Knife Crime Prevention Awards

House Rules

These rules help keep the KCPA community safe, respectful and focused on positive change.

Last updated: 10 June 2026

1. Purpose of the House Rules

The KCPA platform exists to recognise courage, reward change and support positive action around knife crime prevention. These House Rules help keep the community safe, respectful, lawful and focused on constructive discussion.

2. Respect comes first

Users must treat each other, nominees, nominators, families, campaigners, volunteers, judges, moderators and staff with respect. Disagreement is allowed, but abuse is not.

Do not post personal attacks, harassment, bullying, intimidation, hate speech, discriminatory language, repeated targeting, humiliation, mocking of victims, or content intended to provoke distress.

3. Safety and safeguarding

Do not post threats, encourage violence, glorify knife crime, promote weapons, share graphic images, identify vulnerable people without consent, or publish information that could put someone at risk.

If someone is in immediate danger, call 999. The platform is not an emergency service.

4. Lived experience and sensitive stories

We welcome lived experience, but it must be shared responsibly. Avoid unnecessary graphic detail, names of people who have not consented, addresses, school details, ongoing case information or anything that could identify a child, victim, witness or vulnerable person without proper consent.

5. Forum behaviour

Forum posts should stay relevant, constructive and respectful. Do not spam, flood discussions, derail topics, advertise unrelated services, impersonate others, create multiple accounts to avoid moderation or post malicious links.

6. Nominee and nomination discussions

Do not use the platform to attack nominees, spread rumours, make unproven allegations or try to manipulate the awards process. Concerns about a nomination should be reported privately through the appropriate support or reporting route.

7. Support comments

Support comments should be honest, relevant and respectful. Do not submit fake support, repeated duplicate comments, abusive messages or comments designed to mislead judges or artificially inflate support.

8. Prohibited content

  • Threats, abuse or harassment.
  • Hate speech or discriminatory content.
  • Graphic violence or gore.
  • Glorification or encouragement of knife crime.
  • Instructions relating to weapons or violence.
  • Private information shared without consent.
  • False allegations or defamatory claims.
  • Spam, scams, phishing or malicious links.
  • Impersonation of KCPA, judges, staff, nominees or public bodies.

9. Moderation action

KCPA may edit, hide, remove, lock or decline content. We may issue warnings, restrict accounts, suspend access, remove forum privileges, reject nominations, block support comments or escalate serious concerns.

Moderation decisions are made to protect the community, maintain fairness and safeguard people involved in the platform.

10. Reporting concerns

If you see content that breaks these rules or raises a safeguarding concern, use the support page or available reporting tools. Do not start public arguments or attempt to investigate other users yourself.

11. Appeals

Where appropriate, users may contact KCPA through the support page if they believe moderation action was taken in error. KCPA may not discuss moderation relating to another user.
